Treatment Options

Photograph of a vaginal vault that contains an irregular rounded mass with three regions of local bleeding. This was identified as an aborting myoma, a pedunculated fibroid that has passed (from the uterine cavity) through the cervix into the vaginal vault. In this situation, the stalk of the myoma could be grasped, ligated with suture, and cut to remove this fibroid from the opening of the cervix prior to hysteroscopy.
