Photograph of a peritoneal defect (same one in adjacent thumbnail photograph) in the cul de sac behind the uterus that has been vaporized (removed) with a CO2 laser at ultrapulse power settings. Note the lack of char and complete hemostasis, both of which are important in preventing postoperative adhesion (scar) formation.
