Treatment Options

Photograph of the left adnexal pelvic structures (ovary and adjacent fallopian tube) demonstrating an occluded dilated (1-2 cm diameter dilatation) left fallopian tube (hydrosalpinx). There are no peritubal or periovarian adhesions seen in this photo. The dark discolorations (spots) along the ovary and the peritoneum within the cul de sac are due to endometriosis.

This fallopian tube has a relatively good prognosis (in terms of function and future fertility) following adequate surgical repair (fimbrioplasty).
