Treatment Options

Photograph of a uterus that has filmy adhesions (scar tissue) directly to the adjacent bowel. These filmy types of adhesions are generally the result of chronic inflammation, can result in symptoms such as pelvic pain and/or difficulty with bowel movements, and generally can be lysed (cut) completely by an experienced laparoscopic surgeon so as to free up the reproductive and gastrointestinal structures. Peri- and postoperative antibiotics are strongly suggested since infection may be involved as one of the causes of these adhesions.
