Treatment Options

Radiograph of a hysterosalpingogram revealing a uterine cavity with a rounded filling defect in the midline of the fundus, left tubal fill with apparent free spill, right tubal fill (ampullary portion of the tube is identified) with probable spill, and significant intravasation of radiopaque dye into the vessels of the uterine wall (branching filmy halo of dye around the uterine cavity through the region that would be occupied by the uterine wall, leading to and collecting within a prominent vein on the right side that is carrying dye back toward the heart). When significant intravasation of dye is identified, the hysterosalpingogram should (generally) be terminated.
