Endometriosis and Pelvic Adhesions View 4

Photograph of the right ovary and right fallopian tube (outer cylindrical structure) demonstrating thick gelatinous dark colored endometriotic lesions along the entire right ovary and adhering the ovary to the posterior ovarian fossa (area covered by peritoneum behind the ovary). This material can usually be removed entirely and these (types of) ovaries often contain deep endometriosis lesions such as persistent nonfunctional cysts (endometriomas).
