Endometriosis and Pelvic Adhesions View 3

Photograph of a frozen pelvis in which the uterus is densely adherent to both ovaries, the ovaries contain large persistent (followed in the office by serial ultrasound exam) nonfunctional cysts that contain endometriosis and are called “endometriomas,” the bowel is densely adherent to both the uterus (under the ovarian cysts) and the ovaries, and there are abundant brown powder burn lesions of endometriosis along the back wall of the uterus. This pelvis was completely freed up with the removal of all visible endometriosis and this patient became pain free and subsequently also became pregnant (spontaneously).
